Venue Profile
Old school Italian generosity is the name of the game at Wrigleyville’s Bottom Nine, a “sports lounge with a twist.” Owner Frank Babusci and head chef John F. O’Halloran bring 30 years of combined experience to the table, and their hard work and expertise shows. The bar/restaurant, opened in January, 2006, is becoming widely acknowledged for its exotic martinis (watermelon is especially popular), terrific food and cool interior. Try the toasted ravioli to start and follow through with the Bottom Nine Burger, a beefy concoction that will have you quoting Jules from Pulp Fiction (“MMMmmmMMM! This is a tasty burger”). Don Bellini’s whimsical wall paintings are complemented by an exposed kitchen, dark woods and comfy booths. Above all, Babusci is a big-hearted guy and an excellent host—old school Italian to the core.
